Reparatory Justice as the Coming Enlightenment
The Third CARICOM Regional Conference on Reparations represents the first major Caribbean forum on reparatory justice in more than a decade. It builds on the First Regional Conference in St. Vincent and the Grenadines in 2013 and the Second Regional Conference in Antigua and Barbuda in 2014.
The 2026 conference will consolidate the vision of the revised CARICOM Ten-Point Plan for Reparatory Justice: A Manifesto for the Coming Enlightenment, translating recent regional and international momentum into practical political, legal, socio-economic and institutional action.
The conference follows significant 2026 developments, including UN Resolution A/RES/80/250, the Accra Next Steps Commitments, and CARICOM’s approval of the revised Ten-Point Plan.

Entry & Visa Requirements
- Passport valid for the duration of stay.
- Complete the Barbados Immigration & Customs ED Form within 72 hours before arrival.
- CARICOM nationals do not require a visa; other travellers should confirm requirements before travel.
Airport & Transportation
- Arrival airport: Grantley Adams International Airport (BGI).
- Protocol assistance will be available for official delegations.
- Scheduled hotel-to-venue shuttle services will operate during the conference.
Practical Information
- Currency: Barbados Dollar (BBD), pegged at BDS$2.00 to US$1.00.
- Electricity: 115V / 50Hz using North American Type A and B sockets.
- September is warm and humid with periodic heavy showers.
